Allah says:
"Verily, therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful."
[Surah Qāf ayah 37]
If a person attentively listens to the words of Allah, not only with their ears but rather with their heart, taking in the words and standing still with each verse, it shall greatly affect them by the will of Allah.
One way I personally like to listen to the Qur'an is that whenever I hear an Ayah, I imagine that it is being revealed for the first time and that it's a new part of revelation that has just been recited by Rasulallah ﷺ to the people.
